‘The Great Solidarity Heist’ is a vibrant, witty, and deeply engaging theatre piece by Racatrá Teatro—the volunteer theatre group of Solidaridad Internacional PV (SIPV), a Barcelona-based NGO promoting global justice and participatory citizenship. Drawing inspiration from SIPV’s Orígenes Globales initiative and the gamified experience SANKOFA, the play transforms urgent social dilemmas—inequality, migration, climate responsibility—into an immersive, collective game. With sharp humour, physical energy, and heartfelt community spirit, it invites audiences not just to watch, but to reflect, decide, and reconnect with the power of small, shared actions.
The cast blends seasoned performers and emerging international volunteers—including Anzhelika Voronkova (Russia/Spain), Fabián León Bonilla (Colombia/Spain), and Sara Aranega Gómez (Spain)—reflecting SIPV’s transnational ethos. Directed with clarity and warmth, the production prioritises accessibility, dialogue, and joyful critical thinking—no lectures, only resonance. Running 45 minutes, it’s recommended for ages 12+.
Part of the Sentimbarris programme—bringing participatory arts into municipal libraries across Barcelona—the show is free, with online invitations released 1–2 weeks prior. Arrive 10–15 minutes early: late entry is not permitted once the performance begins.
