The Sleeping Beauty, International Classical Ballet — Tatiana Solovieva

‘The Sleeping Beauty’, premiered in St. Petersburg in 1890, is a grand ballet featuring three magnificent palace celebrations: the presentation of the newborn Princess Aurora, her sixteenth birthday, and her wedding—alongside the exquisite ‘Dream’ act. The wicked fairy Carabos predicts that the Princess will prick her finger and die, but the Lilac Fairy transforms the curse into a deep sleep. One hundred years later, Prince Désiré’s kiss awakens her. At their wedding, held at the royal court amidst kings, courtiers, and fairies, audiences will encounter the most beloved characters from Charles Perrault’s fairy tales: Cinderella and the Prince, Puss in Boots and his Kitten, Little Red Riding Hood and the Wolf, the Blue Bird and Princess Florine—and the protagonists will perform their iconic pas de deux.
