Shampoo — Barcelona Gay Men's Chorus

A story about family, identity, and pride in being oneself.

Jacinto and Tebi are a gay couple who successfully run a modern, progressive, and inclusive hair salon — a paradigm of freedom of expression channeled through hairstyling, hair coloring, and nail art.

Their adopted son, Mario, doesn’t always share his parents’ perspective and sometimes wishes for a "more conventional" family, as he doesn’t fully understand some of their social behaviors.

A curious and fortuitous situation will allow Mario to experience firsthand what his parents had to go through to reach where they are today. Guided by Mario, the audience embarks on a musical journey filled with stories, where family values and the ongoing struggle of the LGBTQIA+ community stand at the heart of this theatrical production.
