Alicante Travels to 1363: 'The Four Kingdoms — The Grand Medieval Tournament' at Plaza de Toros
In June 2026, the iconic Plaza de Toros de Alicante will transform into the arena for a spectacular medieval tournament. The immersive show 'The Four Kingdoms — The Grand Medieval Tournament' will transport audiences back to the turbulent year of 1363 — the era of King Pedro I of Castile.
Amid political intrigue and the looming threat of war, the monarch organizes a grand tournament to unite his subjects and showcase the strength of Castile. Four kingdoms — Castile, Aragon, Navarre, and Granada — will clash in epic contests: mounted jousts, foot combat, and thrilling equestrian trials. Spectators don’t just watch — they choose their faction’s colour and actively cheer for “their” knights, fully immersing themselves in the atmosphere of the Middle Ages.
The programme includes:
- Dynamic combats and mounted jousts (justas)
