Martina and the Paper Forest

Step into a world of gentle wonder with Martina and the Paper Forest, a captivating visual theatre piece by L’Horta Teatre, part of Barcelona City Council’s acclaimed Menuts Barris programme for family and children’s performing arts.

This poetic, object-based performance blends puppetry, paper manipulation, and evocative lighting to guide young audiences (aged 3+) through an enchanted forest — not of trees and moss, but of folded paper, delicate shadows, and soft soundscapes. Martina, a curious and courageous girl, embarks on a journey through an unfamiliar woodland, slowly discovering that nature is not just scenery, but a kind, living companion worthy of care and reverence.

Created with tender simplicity and artistic precision, the show features stunning scenography by Empaperart, the handcrafted Martina puppet by Maite Cabedo, original music by Panchi Vivó, and sensitive lighting design by Marc Gonzalo. Directors Sergio Martínez and Pau Pons craft a theatrical language where every object breathes, and every shadow tells a story.

Running time: 55 minutes. Please arrive 10–15 minutes early. Admission is free via online invitations, released one to two weeks before the performance.
