G9. Internationally recognized as one of the most important guitarists of our time, Manuel Barrueco's mastery—marked by a highly personal style—is frequently described as that of a great instrumentalist and refined, elegant musician with a seductive sound and exceptional lyricism.

Barrueco has dedicated his career to bringing the guitar to the world's most prestigious musical venues. He has toured extensively, performing in renowned halls such as London's Royal Albert Hall, Vienna's Musikverein, Amsterdam's Concertgebouw, Berlin's Philharmonie, Madrid's Teatro Real, and Barcelona's Palau de la Música. In Asia, he has completed nearly a dozen tours of Japan and performed in South Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, and Hong Kong. In Latin America, he has appeared in Mexico, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, and Puerto Rico.

His interest in contemporary music has led him to collaborate with distinguished composers including Steven Stucky, Michael Daugherty, Roberto Sierra, Arvo Pärt, Gabriela Lena Frank, Toru Takemitsu, Dmitri Yanov-Yanovsky, and Jonathan Leshnoff.

Manuel Barrueco was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Instrumental Soloist Performance for his album "Solo Piazzolla," and his recording "Tárrega!" received a Latin Grammy nomination for Best Classical Album.

He teaches a select group of exceptional students at the Peabody Conservatory of The Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, and serves as a visiting professor at the Conservatory of Music of Puerto Rico and the University of Alicante.
