The closing event of the Shakara Fáyé 2026 cycle is a vibrant, informal poetic and musical gathering centred on African voices and sounds. More than a concert, it’s a heartfelt space for celebration, dialogue, and shared presence — bringing together the project team, collaborators, invited guests, and all attendees of the exhibition.
Held at El Refugio Artes y Utopías, a dynamic cultural hub in central Alicante (Carrer del Cid, 20), this evening embodies the spirit of the entire initiative: art as a catalyst for intercultural understanding, decolonial education, and community building.
Shakara Fáyé is part of the broader Orígenes Globales (“Global Origins”) project — an educational and artistic programme led by Solidaridad Internacional País Valenciano, funded by the Generalitat Valenciana. It foregrounds knowledge systems, aesthetics, and pedagogies rooted in Sub-Saharan Africa. The cycle features exhibitions, workshops, talks, and performances co-created with the University of Alicante, Miguel Hernández University, the French Institute, MACA, and grassroots collectives across the Valencian Community.
This closing encounter is intentionally unscripted: expect live percussion, spoken word, call-and-response chants, and spontaneous conversation — no stage, no hierarchy, just resonance. It’s not an ending, but a collective breath before continuing the journey — together, through sound, story, and solidarity.
Join us on 14 November at 8:30 pm in Alicante — to listen deeply, connect meaningfully, and become part of a growing community shaped by African rhythms and relational values.
