ZENET «Hands and Voice»
Lila Horovitz — double bass
Aaron Pozo — saxophone
Julián Olivares — guitar
ZENET returns to the stage with a concert presenting live their new album *The Voice and the Hands* — their most intimate work since *The Seas of China*. Here, the focus is on the essence of songwriting and the genres that have shaped their artistic life.
Throughout their career, ZENET has been celebrated as a true genre thief: hinting at tango, suggesting bossa nova, flirting with bolero or chanson. In this new work, they don’t quote these styles — they inhabit them fully. Bolero, tango, bossa nova, folk — all resonate in pure, sincere sound, performed on acoustic instruments with voice front and center, free of digital artifice.
This album was born as a tribute to José Taboada, ZENET’s late musical companion — absent in person, yet profoundly present throughout this journey, with stops at memory, roots, and artisanal sound. It’s not just an album you listen to — it’s one you *feel*. And it’s not merely a concert: it’s a sonic journey embracing the past and bringing it vividly into the present, with ZENET as its unguarded, fully expressive protagonist.
