ADDA·SYMPHONIC ALICANTE
Nominated for GRAMMY® and Latin GRAMMY® Awards
Twice awarded by the Spanish Academy of Music

The resident symphony orchestra of the “Fundació de la Comunitat Valenciana – ADDA”, and also the resident orchestra of the Alicante Provincial Auditorium, ADDA·SYMPHONIC ALICANTE has rapidly become a vital part of Spain’s musical life since its founding in 2018. Bathed in the light of the Mediterranean coast, the orchestra stands out for its unique sonic personality — a reflection of its founder and Principal Conductor, Josep Vicent. An “author orchestra” capable of evoking emotion and inspiration at every concert.

Its regular season combines high-calibre symphonic cycles with world-renowned artists alongside international projects: its recent Asian tour (two concerts at Suntory Hall in Tokyo and Osaka), the Christmas Concert at Palau de la Música in Barcelona, stage productions at the Ljubljana and Berlioz Festivals, and upcoming debuts in Budapest and Sofia.

The orchestra innovates through stylistic versatility, the talent of its musicians, and deep social commitment: educational and stage-based outreach, concerts in nursing homes, community centres, and hospitals. Its renewing spirit shines through interpretations of contemporary music, world premieres, and staged productions with Emilio Sagi or La Fura dels Baus (*El amor brujo*, *Carmen*, *La Bohème*, *The Creation*, *Carmina Burana*, *Pastoral for the Planet*). Also notable are the symphonic jazz project “Chick Corea Symphony Tribute” and the audiovisual cycle of Stravinsky’s ballets.

Its discographic and audiovisual output (Warner Classics, Aria Classics, Parma Recordings, Discmedi, IMM Klassik) has received four *Melómano de Oro* awards and numerous GRAMMY and Latin GRAMMY nominations. Renowned artists including Valery Gergiev, Maria João Pires, Javier Perianes, Paquito D’Rivera, Pablo Sainz-Villegas, Katia & Marielle Labèque, Denis Kozhukhin, and Joaquín Achúcarro have graced its stage.

With its unstoppable artistic trajectory, critics describe ADDA·SYMPHONIC ALICANTE as “a world-class instrument that transmits enthusiasm — its energy and sound accessible to very few orchestras.” Together with its Principal Conductor Josep Vicent, the orchestra has become an indispensable cultural hallmark of its region.
