Nominated for GRAMMY® and Latin GRAMMY® Awards
Twice awarded by the Spanish Academy of Music
The resident symphonic orchestra of the “Fundació de la Comunitat Valenciana – ADDA”, and concurrently the resident ensemble of the Auditori de la Diputació d’Alacant, ADDA·Symphonic Alicante has rapidly become a vital force in Spain’s musical life since its founding in 2018. Bathed in the light of the Mediterranean coast, the orchestra is distinguished by its unique sonic personality—shaped by its founder and Principal Conductor, Josep Vicent. It is an “author-orchestra”: one capable of stirring emotion and inspiration at every concert.
Its regular season combines high-calibre symphonic cycles with world-renowned artists, alongside international projects such as its recent Asian tour (two concerts at Suntory Hall in Tokyo and Osaka), the Christmas Concert at Palau de la Música Catalana in Barcelona, staged productions at the Ljubljana and Berlioz Festivals, and upcoming debuts in Budapest and Sofia.
The orchestra innovates through stylistic versatility, the outstanding talent of its musicians, and deep social commitment: educational and theatrical initiatives, concerts in nursing homes, community centres, and hospitals. Its forward-looking spirit shines through performances of contemporary music, world premieres, and staged collaborations with Emilio Sagi or La Fura dels Baus (*El amor brujo*, *Carmen*, *La Bohème*, *The Creation*, *Carmina Burana*, *Pastoral for the Planet*). Standout projects also include the “Chick Corea Symphony Tribute” jazz-symphonic series and the audiovisual integral staging of Stravinsky’s ballets.
Its discographic and audiovisual output (Warner Classics, Aria Classics, Parma Recordings, Discmedi, IMM Klassik) has earned four *Melómano de Oro* awards and numerous GRAMMY and Latin GRAMMY nominations. Renowned artists—including Valery Gergiev, Maria João Pires, Javier Perianes, Paquito D’Rivera, Pablo Sainz-Villegas, Katia & Marielle Labèque, Denis Kozhukhin, and Joaquín Achúcarro—have graced its stage.
With its unstoppable artistic trajectory, critics describe the orchestra as “a world-class instrument that spreads enthusiasm—possessing energy and sound quality accessible to very few ensembles.” ADDA·Symphonic Alicante and its Principal Conductor Josep Vicent have become an indispensable cultural brand in their region.
