DEL OLIVAR A TU MESA: DESCUBRE CÓMO SE ELABORA EL ACEITE DE OLIVA VIRGEN

Step into the rich sensory world of one of the Mediterranean’s most iconic products — extra virgin olive oil (EVOO). This engaging in-person workshop, co-organized by the University of Alicante’s Centre for Mediterranean Gastronomy (Gasterra) and GASTRO CINEMA, traces the full journey from olive harvest to bottled oil.

Participants will explore how climate, soil, and olive varieties shape flavor profiles; discover traditional and modern milling techniques; and learn practical tasting skills to identify quality EVOO by its aroma, bitterness, and pungency. The session includes a guided tasting of award-winning local oils, insights into EVOO’s central role in the Mediterranean diet, and its deep-rooted cultural legacy across Spain and the wider region.

Held at MARQ — the Archaeological Museum of Alicante — this event bridges ancient heritage and contemporary food culture. Come not just to taste, but to truly understand the liquid gold that has graced tables for millennia.
