From 6 to 22 March 2026, the vibrant Alicante Waterfront will host MarisGalicia, one of Spain’s largest and most beloved seafood festivals — a vibrant celebration of Galician gastronomy and the pristine bounty of its Atlantic coast. Taking place at El Muelle Live, a scenic venue in the former Volvo Ocean Race zone, the fair offers far more than just exceptional food: it’s a full sensory immersion into Galicia’s maritime heritage — from live seafood exhibitions to masterclasses led by legendary pulpeiros, the artisanal chefs who elevate octopus preparation to an art form.

Rooted in centuries-old fishing traditions yet deeply contemporary, MarisGalicia showcases iconic dishes like pulpo a la gallega, succulent bogavantes (lobsters), sépia (cuttlefish), prized percebes (gooseneck barnacles), razor clams (navajas), cockles (zumbariñas), and rich arroz marinero. Complement your meal with traditional Galician empanadas, wood-fired bread, and classics like tarta de Santiago. The wine list features regionally iconic labels — crisp Albariño, elegant Ribeiro, fruity Mencía, and refined Godello — all served alongside the lively energy of a working seafood market.

Beyond taste, the festival embraces education and sustainability: the daily Exhibición de marisco vivo invites visitors to discover marine biodiversity and responsible fishing practices. And no visit is complete without witnessing the ritual of octopus cooking by masters from Carballiño — the Galician town revered as the spiritual home of this iconic dish. With free admission, flexible hours (daily 13:00–16:30 & 20:00–23:00; Sundays until 16:30), and a stunning seaside setting, MarisGalicia is a must for food lovers, families, and cultural explorers alike.
