Alicante Rescuers Perform Two Challenging Operations Over the Weekend
January 04, 2026
Over the weekend, rescue teams in Alicante faced two emergencies. The first occurred in the mountains near Benigembla on the PR-465 trail, where a group of Dutch tourists, averaging around 70 years old, required assistance. One of them sustained a back injury and was evacuated on a stretcher by rescuers from Dénia and the GER special unit, with the operation concluding after midnight. The next day, the action shifted to the coast, where a British tourist was injured on the rocks at Cala de Finestrat. Due to difficult access, he was evacuated by land and then transported to Marina Baixa Hospital in La Vila Joiosa by boat. These incidents highlight the crucial role of professional rescue services.
