China's EV Surge: One in Five Electric Cars in Spain is Made in China. Tesla Under Pressure

Madrid, November 17, 2025 — The electric vehicle (EV) market in Spain is undergoing a real revolution in 2025. Where the word "electric car" once almost automatically meant Tesla, the field has now become a battleground for global giants, with China launching an open offensive.

In the first nine months of 2025, 81,539 pure electric vehicles were sold in Spain — an 85% increase compared to the previous year. Chinese brands have already captured 22% of the BEV market.
