Beaver Moon — the largest and brightest supermoon of the year

People around the world witnessed the largest and brightest supermoon of the year on Wednesday, when the Moon was at its closest point to Earth.
The name "Beaver Moon" follows a long-standing tradition of giving nicknames to supermoons.
While there is some debate about the origin of this name, some sources attribute it to Native American tribes who set beaver traps in November.
The Beaver Moon will be followed by another full moon in early December.
