Alicante Airport Expands Route Network: 10 New Ryanair Routes This Winter and Austrian Airlines Returns to Vienna Summer 2026

Alicante, November 10, 2025 – Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernández Airport (ALC) has announced a significant expansion of its route network for the upcoming seasons. Low-cost carrier Ryanair is launching 10 new routes this winter, while Austrian Airlines will resume direct flights from Alicante to Vienna starting March 2026.

Ryanair: 10 New Routes for Winter 2025/2026

Starting November 2025, Ryanair will launch flights on the following routes:

Växjö (VXO) / Sweden / 2

Lanzarote (ACE) / Spain (Canary Islands) / 2–3

Additionally, flight frequencies have increased on popular routes:

• Milan (BGY/MXP)
• Marrakesh (RAK)
• Budapest (BUD)

Ryanair will base 16 aircraft in Alicante, investing over $1.6 billion and supporting 6,700 jobs in the region.

Austrian Airlines Returns to Alicante

Starting March 26, 2026, Austrian airline Austrian Airlines will resume direct flights between Alicante and Vienna:

• Frequency: Twice weekly – Wednesdays and Sundays
• Flight duration: ~2 hours 50 minutes
• Fleet: Airbus A320 + wet-lease from airBaltic

This is part of Austrian's global network expansion for summer 2026, increasing routes from Vienna to 113 destinations.

Record Airport Growth

In 2025, Alicante Airport has already served over 15 million passengers – a record in its history. The new routes strengthen ALC’s position as one of the key hubs on the Costa Blanca.
